Your initial visit usually begins with a review of your medical and dental history, plus a discussion about your concerns and desires. Unless there is pain or discomfort that needs to be tended to immediately at the first visit, a comprehensive exam is performed, which includes any necessary diagnostic x-rays, a hygiene evaluation and oral cancer screening.

An advanced intraoral camera (about

the size of a toothbrush) is used to show you on a video monitor exactly what the doctor sees in your mouth. Once all the diagnostic information is obtained, the doctor will talk about his findings, discuss your options, present recommendations and a mutually agreeable customized plan of treatment is arrived at.
